I'm a software engineer working on infrastructure — the systems that move data reliably, keep state consistent under load, and stay boring in the best way when everything else on top of them is on fire. This site is where I write up the parts of that work worth explaining properly: distributed systems, databases, networking, and the tradeoffs nobody puts in the docs.
Most posts here come with an interactive lab — a small simulation you can poke at, because reading about how consistent hashing or BGP route propagation works is a poor substitute for watching it happen.
